Economic Development · Meeting of April 10, 2026

NY SALEM — Economic Development Committee updates progress across five major initiatives. The committee reported 274 responses to the Master Comprehensive Plan survey, with results to be reviewed in April. The state has approved Salem's land banking program and a Board of Directors is now formed; a separate committee will be created to identify and prioritize properties.

Climate initiatives include approximately $200 in sidewalk grants plus an additional $30,000 for Main Street sidewalk improvements. The sewer project is shifting from a declined SAW site to an alternative location off Stanton Hill Road; a consultant is assessing solar farm grid-connection costs.
