NY SALEM — Salem Town Board rescinds flood damage prevention law pending staff review. Supervisor Evera Sue Clary called the special meeting, where Councilman Tom McMorris introduced Resolution #42 for proposed Local Law #2 of 2026 on Flood Damage Prevention. Kim Erbe, Planning/Library staff, flagged multiple concerns, including the town's lack of a Code Enforcement Officer and other questionable provisions.
The resolution received no second motion and was rescinded without a vote. The board also discussed the Blockhouse project, noting the 2nd Continental Artillery's 501(c)(3) status for accepting donations and approving $600 in tree costs from Bob Akland.
